I just finished this. I could have finished it at work but the lady of the kid I nanny arrived before I could. I had about two pages left.
It a nutshell it is about a girl who was a pirate in the 17th century that is cursed to live life as a dog a hundred times before becoming human again. With all of her memories still intact. She is reborn in the late 1970s. I absolutely enjoyed it. It got really weird at times, mostly because I didn’t expect some of the things to be written since it is a “young adult” book, but it was appropriate for the time period. The ending was to my liking as well. Which I find important in books.
I must have looked three hundred years’ worth of pissed off and ready to kill him. And I was.
A.S. King, The Dust of 100 Dogs (via madtoonz)
In the late seventeenth century, famed teenage pirate Emer Morrisey wason the cusp of escaping the pirate life with her one true love and unfathomable riches when she was slain and cursed with the dust of one hundred dogs, dooming her to one hundred lives as a dog before returning to a human body — with her memories intact. Now she’s a contemporary American teenager and all she needs is a shovel and a ride to Jamaica.
I loved this book! It was full of action, love, flashbacks, and twists. :)
